Detectives from Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit charged a man following a hit-run collision in Delacombe earlier this year.
It is alleged three offenders, a man and two women, attended a tow yard on Elizabeth Street around 9.20pm where a recovered stolen Ford Ranger was being stored on Tuesday, 28 April.
The man allegedly attempted to unlock the Ford but was spooked by two staff members and the trio fled the premise emptyhanded.
The staff members followed the women onto Stone Park Drive, when a cream-colored Skoda bearing no registration plates drove past and allegedly struck one of the staff members.
The staff member, a 23-year-old man, was knocked to the ground but luckily escaped serious injury.
On Monday, detectives arrested a 23-year-old man at a property in Ballan.
The Wendouree man was interviewed in relation to the hit-run and a series of alleged incidents spanning over the past four months.
He was charged with:
- reckless conduct endanger life
- reckless conduct endangering serious injury
- drive whilst disqualified (x5)
- handle stolen goods (x3)
- theft of motor vehicle (x3)
- commit indictable offence whilst on bail (x5)
- possess methylamphetamine
- traffick methylamphetamine
- traffick GHB
- traffick cannabis
- make threats to kill (x2)
- threats to inflict serious injury (x2)
- stalk another person
- contravene a conduct condition of bail (x5)
He faced Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Tuesday where he was further remanded until 12 October.
