Police charge man after drugs located in car at Wagga Wagga

A man has appeared in court today after police allegedly located prohibited drugs during a vehicle stop in Wagga Wagga.

About 4pm yesterday (Thursday 18 March 2021), officers from Riverina Highway Patrol stopped a white Audi A4 sedan on Olympic Highway, Alfredtown.

The car was searched, and officers allegedly located cocaine, methylamphetamine and MDMA.

The 22-year-old male driver was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

Following an investigation by Wagga Wagga Regional Enforcement Squad (RES) he was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug large commercial quantity and state false name and place of abode.

He was bail refused and appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Friday 19 March 2021) and will reappear in the same court on Monday 22 March 2021.
