Police Charge Man After Investigation Into Firearms, Drug Supply Offences At Broken Hill

A man will face court next month after an investigation in the states far west.

In October 2025, detectives attached to Barrier Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the Broken Hill area.

About 10.15am on Thursday 16 October 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home on Kaolin Street, Broken Hill.

When the property was searched about 1.5kg of cannabis, seven cannabis plants, methylamphetamine, $14 950 cash, and two gel blaster firearms were allegedly located and seized.

A 54-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with 11 offences,

- Supply cannabis (indictable quantity)

- Cultivate prohibited plant

- Possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm (two counts)

- Possess unauthorised firearm (two counts)

- Not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited firearm (two counts)

- Possess prohibited drug

- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and

- Receive stolen property.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Broken Hill on Tuesday 11 November 2025.
