Police charge man after Malvern East car theft

A man has been charged after a car was allegedly stolen in Malvern East then tracked via GPS last week.

A 35-year-old St Kilda man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft.

It is alleged the keys for a vehicle were stolen from a business on Chadstone Road in Malvern East about 1am on Thursday, 15 September.

The car was tracked via GPS to a hotel on John Street in Malvern.

Police followed the vehicle to Grange Road in Glen Huntly where a man was arrested.

He will appear at Moorabbin Magistrates' Court on 20 December, 2022.
