Police charge man after Norlane shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man with conduct endangering life and a range of firearms offences following a shooting in Norlane earlier this month.

The 35-year-old man remains in hospital under police guard after he was arrested at a property in Falcon Street on Thursday 18 April, 2019 about 5pm.

Investigators seized a firearm and ammunition as part of the investigation.

The Norlane man has been charged with:

• reckless conduct endangering life

• recklessly cause injury

• prohibited person use a firearm

• criminal damage

• damage property with a firearm

• use firearm in a dangerous manner

• use firearm public place

• commit an indictable offence whilst on bail

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 23 April, 2019.

The charges follow an Armed Crime Squad investigation into alleged shooting incident in Falcon Street on Saturday 6 April in which a moving car was allegedly shot at. The driver, 33-year-old Belmont man, received minor injuries.
