Police charge man after North Melbourne sexual assault

Detectives from Transit Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following an alleged sexual assault in North Melbourne.

The assault allegedly occurred whilst the teenage victim was waiting for a train at North Melbourne Railway Station on 4 February about 1.45pm.

The man, a 71-year-old from Kings Park, was arrested in St Albans on 3 March.

He has since been charged with sexual assault of a child under 16 and stalking.

He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 19 August.
