Police charge man after serious assault at Forster

A man has been charged with assault following an altercation at a home in Forster yesterday.

About 4.10pm on Thursday 17 October 2019, a 30-year-old man was at a residence on Goldens Road, Forster when a man known to him arrived at the home.

Following an argument, the visitor allegedly produced a knife and struck the occupant across the chest, rib and arm, causing a number of serious injuries.

The visitor then fled the location with the occupant and others in the area giving chase.

The 30-year-old man later returned to the residence where he was treated for his wounds before being taken to Manning Base Hospital.

Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old was arrested and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was bail refused to appear at Forster Local Court today Friday 18 October 2019.
