Police charge man over brawl at Fairfield

A man will face court today charged following an alleged brawl outside a venue in Sydney's south-west.

About 10.50pm on Thursday (22 December 2022), emergency services were called to a licensed venue on Ware Street, Fairfield, following reports of a brawl outside.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A short time later, a 39-year-old man presented to Fairfield Hospital suffering from wounds to his head, buttocks and deep laceration to his fingers on his right hand.

Police attended the hospital, where the man was arrested and placed under guard.

Upon his release from Fairfield Hospital yesterday (Friday 23 December 2022), the man was taken to Fairfield Police Station.

He was charged with affray and refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 24 December 2022).

Investigations are continuing.
