Police charge man over sexual touching of five-year-old girl - Bondi

Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man over the alleged sexual touching of a young girl in Sydney's east last week.

Last Friday (4 June 2021), detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a five-year-old had been sexually touched by a man while at a store at Bondi.

Following inquiries, investigators attended the store at Bondi and arrested a 58-year-old man, about 3.45pm the same day.

He was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with 11 counts of intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years.

The Dover Heights man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday (5 June 2021), where he was formally refused bail and is next due to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 22 June 2021).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
