Police charge man over stabbing - Normanhurst

A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing in Sydney's northwest overnight.

About 9.25pm (Tuesday 6 December 2022), emergency services were called to a unit complex in Denman Parade, Normanhurst, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command located a 57-year-old man seriously injured.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 60-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Hornsby Police Station.

He was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court today (Wednesday 7 December 2022).

Inquiries are continuing.
