Police charge man with drugs and firearms offences - Willmot

A man faces court today after police seized drugs and a prohibited firearm in Sydney's west last night.

About 11.30pm (Sunday 30 June 2019) police attended a property on Captain Cook Drive, Willmott in relation to an outstanding warrant for a 30-year-old man.

The man was located and arrested.

During a subsequent search of a nearby vehicle, officers allegedly discovered a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a face mask, various drug paraphernalia and an amount of the drug methylamphetamine (ice).

The items and the vehicle were seized by police.

The arrested man was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with the following offences –

  • Revocation of Parole warrant
  • Possess Shortened Firearm
  • Possess Loaded Firearm
  • Possess Unauthorised Firearm
  • Possess Ammunition without Permit
  • Possess Prohibited Drug
  • Supply Prohibited Drug
  • Drive whilst Disqualified (two counts)
  • Being Convicted Offender Armed with Intent to Commit Indictable offence.

The man was bail refused to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Monday 1 July 2019).
