It will be alleged the man followed a young girl into the toilet area at the complex where he indecently assaulted her.
The 29-year-old man from Landsdale has been charged with 'Indecent Dealings with Child Under 13 Years'. He appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 12 February and is next due to appear in court on 13 March 2026.
The Western Australia Police Force will not tolerate the sexual or indecent abuse of children under any circumstances. Any person who harms a child will be pursued with the full force of the law, and every report of abuse is treated as a priority.
Child Abuse Squad detectives urge parents, carers, and community members to remain alert when children are in public places such as aquatic centres, playgrounds, and sporting venues. Close supervision and simple safety conversations can help reduce risk.
Speak with children about personal safety in a calm and age appropriate way. Encourage them to tell a trusted adult immediately if someone makes them feel uncomfortable, follows them, or behaves inappropriately. Remind children that it is acceptable to leave a situation, seek help from staff, or call out for assistance if they feel unsafe.
Report any suspicious behaviour to facility staff or police as soon as possible. Early reporting can help protect children and support investigators.
