A man will face court today charged with multiple domestic violence offences in Sydney's west.
On 9 July 2025, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command began an investigation following reports of threatening messages allegedly sent to a 31-year-old woman.
About 5:00pm yesterday, (Sunday 13 July 2025), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attempted to arrest a 45-year-old man in a vehicle in Crown St, Granville.
On sighting police, the man allegedly drove at two male Constables, causing them to take action to avoid being hit. One Constable was forced against a brick fence and his foot was run over.
A pursuit was initiated with PORS, Highway Patrol and POLAIR assisting. During the pursuit, the man allegedly drove in excess of the speed limit, through red traffic control lights and at times, on the wrong side of the road.
The pursuit concluded when the man collided with a street sign in Castlereagh St, Warwick Farm.
He was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged by officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command with:
- contravening apprehended violence order,
- use carriage service to threaten/harass,
- stalk/intimidation cause fear of physical harm,
- malicious damage,
- breach of bail,
- use weapon (vehicle) to avoid apprehension and
- police pursuit.
He was refused bail to appear at the Liverpool Local Court today, Monday 14 July 2025.
