Police charge teen after break-ins - Western Region

A teenage boy will face court today charged over a number of alleged break and enters in the state's Western Region.

Between Monday 17 January 2022 and Tuesday 18 January 2022, a number of break-ins were reported to police in Orange, Bathurst and Blayney areas.

Following enquiries, officers attached to Central West Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Raines Place, Orange, just after 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 January 2022).

During the search, police seized mobile phones and cigarettes that will undergo further examination.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the home, before he was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with;

  • aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal (x2),
  • be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner,
  • aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence (x3),
  • larceny,
  • goods suspected stolen in/on premises.

The teen was refused bail to appear before a children's court today (Thursday 20 January 2022).

Investigations are ongoing.
