Police charge teen after threatening taxi driver at knife point - Prospect

A teenager will appear in court charged after allegedly carjacking a taxi driver at knife point in Sydney's west overnight.

Just after midnight (Sunday 13 June 2021), a male entered a taxi on Bolton Street, Prospect, and allegedly threatened the driver with a knife.

The taxi driver fled on foot and notified police. He was not physically injured during the incident.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and with assistance from the Dog Unit, police arrested a 15-year-old boy at a home in Prospect.

Shortly after, the taxi was found unattended with crash damage on Harwood Street, Seven Hills. Police located and seized a knife inside.

The teen was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle-armed with weapon.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Children's Court today (Sunday 13 June 2021).
