Police charge three over Sheffield burglary

Three people have been charged over a burglary at a Sheffield business in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called to the business about 1am and observed a vehicle of interest a short time later.

The vehicle attempted to evade police, and crashed on Nook Road at Sheffield.

Three people were taken into custody at the scene of the crash.

One occupant within the vehicle was treated for minor injuries as a result of the crash.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police located and seized a shotgun.

A 29-year-old Wynyard man was charged with Burglary, Stealing, Evade Police, Drive whilst Disqualified and Breach of Bail.

A 36-year-old Ulverstone man was charged with Burglary, Stealing and Breaching a Family Violence Order.

A 39-year-old Penguin woman was charged with Burglary, Stealing and Firearm Offences.

All three will appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court today.

Further inquiries are being conducted to identify a fourth offender in relation to the burglary.
