Police charge two after man shot - Riverwood

A man and a woman will face court today following investigations into a shooting in Sydney's south-west last month.

About 6.20am on Wednesday 11 November 2020, emergency services were called following reports a man had been shot inside a home on Methuen Parade, Riverwood.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command arrived to find a 30-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds to his legs.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition. The man has since been released from hospital.

A crime scene was established at the property and detectives commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, Campsie detectives with the assistance of officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command arrested a 43-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman on Challis Avenue, Potts Point, about 1030am yesterday (Tuesday 15 December 2020).

They were taken to Kings Cross Police Station and charged.

The man was charged with six offences including; discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority, acquire etc firearm - subject to prohibition order, acquire etc ammunition subject to prohibition order, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The woman was charged with discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, and hinder discovery evidence re: serious indictable offence.

Both were refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Wednesday 16 December 2020).

Inquiries are continuing.
