Police charge two people after Dandenong assault

Police have charged a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in relation to an assault in Dandenong on Monday, 18 September.

It is alleged a verbal argument initiated at a park on the corner of Clow Street and Lonsdale Street about 3.20pm before a man and woman allegedly seriously physically assaulted the victim.

A 39-year-old Coburg man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A Doveton man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence and intentionally cause serious injury.

He appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The woman ran from the scene and was last seen on Boyd Lane. She was arrested by Greater Dandenong Crime detectives this morning.

The Dandenong woman was charged with affray, common law assault and assault by kicking. She was bailed today to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 8 February 2024.
