Police have charged two men with murder after a fatal shooting in Sydney's west yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Shale Street, Lidcombe, just after 4am (Monday 16 March 2026), following reports of a shooting.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a 38-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to a Sydney hospital, where he died a short time later.
A second man at the scene suffered non-life-threatening injuries during an assault. He was also taken to hospital.
Police established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 1:30pm yesterday (Monday 16 March 2026) emergency services were called to Boronia Street, Ermington, following reports a car had crashed into a parked vehicle.
On arrival, police allegedly located a firearm in the car and arrested the driver, a 21-year-old man.
He was taken to Gladesville Police Station, where after inquiries, he was charged with murder, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
About 8pm, Auburn detectives – assisted by SCC Homicide Squad – executed a crime scene warrant at a home on Spurway Street, Ermington, and arrested a 22-year-old man.
He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was also charged with murder; both have been refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 17 March 2026).
