Police charge woman after domestic stabbing at Ganmain

A woman has been charged over the alleged domestic-related stabbing of a man in the state's Riverina region yesterday.

Just after 7.15pm (Saturday 23 May 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Ford Street, Ganmain, about 56km north west of Wagga Wagga, after reports of a domestic-related stabbing.

A 52-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a stab wound to the back, before being flown to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

She was charged with reckless wounding (DV), resist officer in execution of duty (DV) and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).

The woman was refused bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Bail Court today (Sunday 24 May 2020).
