Police charge youth after armed robbery in Gosnells

Armadale Detectives have charged a person as a result of their investigation into an incident that occurred on Wednesday 10 May 2023, when police were called to an incident at a supermarket on Corfield Street, Gosnells in which a man had been injured.

It will be alleged about 2.40pm, a female staff member at the store confronted a male customer who was leaving the store, in relation to a belief he had not paid for an item.

It will be further alleged the situation escalated and a member of the public intervened to prevent the staff member being assaulted. That member of the public – a 39-year-old man – was allegedly stabbed resulting in him receiving multiple injuries consistent with stab wounds.

The victim was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 14-year-old boy from Gosnells is due to appear before the Perth Children's Court today, 11 May 2023 charged with:-

• One count of Armed Robbery; and

• One count of Unlawful Wounding.
