Police Charge Youth After Hotel Room Burglary

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy following a burglary at a hotel in Melbourne earlier this month.

Investigators allege false identification was used to gain access to a room in the Wellington Parade complex about 7pm on 5 September.

Cash and personal items were stolen.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from the Geelong area earlier today and charged him with burglary, trespass and attempt to obtain property by deception.

He will face a Children's Court at a later date.
