Police Investigate Alfredton ram raid

Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following a ram-raid in Alfredton earlier this week.

Police were called to a licensed venue on Sturt Street following reports a silver Subaru Forrester station wagon had smashed into the front glass doors about 1.40am on Wednesday, 24 May.

It is understood two men attempted to steal a cash machine but were unsuccessful.

No one was inside the venue at the time.

The men fled the scene in the Subaru station wagon which was seen heading westbound along Sturt Street.

The vehicle was located burnt out on Binks Road in Colbrook later on Wednesday morning.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of two men who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

An image of the vehicle has also been released, and police are continuing to appeal for dashcam footage in the area following the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
