Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Woree

Police have charged three teenage girls following an incident at a Woree service station yesterday, 22 June.

It will be alleged around 3.30am, police were conducting proactive patrols when they observed the service station attendant in distress.

Upon arrival, police located the girls allegedly threatening him with a knife demanding cash.

Officers entered the service station and disarmed the 17-year-old holding the knife, before taking all three into custody.

No one was physically injured.

A 16-year-old Bungalow girl was charged with one count of armed robbery, stealing and trespass.

A 17-year-old Woree girl was charged with one count each of armed robbery, wilful damage and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property.

A 15-year-old Woree girl was charged with one count of armed robbery.

All three girls were refused police bail and are due to appear in the Cairns Children's Court today, 23 June.
