Police investigate fatal crash - Riverina region

Police have commenced investigations following a fatal crash in the state's Riverina region today.

Just after 9.30am (Wednesday 22 December 2021), emergency services were called to Savernake Road, Savernake – about 100km north west of Albury – following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

The male driver of the Holden Colorado utility was assisted out of the vehicle by NSW Fire & Rescue officers and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene a short time later.

While he is yet to be formally identified, the driver – and sole occupant – is believed to be aged in his 30s.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
