Police investigate group of men impersonating police - Lake Illawarra PD

Investigations are continuing after three men impersonating a police officer in Berkeley this morning.

About 6.30am (Friday 20 March 2020), a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were sitting in a car in a carpark on Hooka Creek Road, when they were approached by three men.

Police have been told the men pretended to be police officers and demanded the couple hand over their wallets and mobile phones.

The three men left in a white Mazda 4WD, believed to be a CX5 or CX7 model and were last seen travelling towards Northcliffe Drive.

No one was injured.

As inquiries continue, detectives from Lake Illawarra Police Area Command are keen to speak with any witnesses or anyone who was in the vicinity of Berkeley netball courts earlier this morning.
