Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash on Boyer Road, Dromedary this afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called about 12 midday to attend a two vehicle crash involving a black BMW sedan and a red Toyota Camry sedan on Boyer Road, Dromedary towards Bridgewater in the 80km zone.
Emergency service responders attended the scene, including Police, Tasmania Fire Service, State Emergency Service and Tas Ambulance. The drivers of both vehicles were trapped in their respective vehicles and required extrication.
The driver of the BMW, a 29 year old New Norfolk man, and the driver of the Toyota, a 30 year old Bridgewater woman both sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries. The woman's two year old son was not physically injured. All were transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The road was closed for several hours while police including Crash Investigation and Forensics conducted investigations.
Initial investigations suggest the Bridgewater-bound BMW crossed to the incorrect side of the road, colliding with the New Norfolk-bound Toyota.
Investigations are ongoing and police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or witnessed the driving behaviour of both vehicles prior to the incident.
Police also request any witnesses that may have dash cam footage of the vehicles or the crash to come forward.
