Police investigate sexual assault in Melbourne CBD

Melbourne Sexual Offences & Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are investigating a sexual assault at a shopping centre in Melbourne's CBD this month.

Investigators have been told a teenage girl was with her parents and siblings at a shopping centre on the corner of La Trobe and Swanston Streets at 3.30pm on 2 July.

An unknown man walked between the victim and her sibling, bumped her on the shoulder and sexually assaulted her before walking away.

The offender is described as approximately 170cm tall, 30-40-years-old with black and grey hair and was wearing a navy puffer jacket, navy jeans and white sneakers.

Detectives have released an image of a man who they believe could be of assistance to their enquiries.
