Police investigate South Yarra theft and deceptions

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man following a theft and subsequent deceptions in South Yarra and Prahran last month.

Investigators have been told unknown offenders gained entry to a car parked in Darling St, South Yarra during the night of 17 May.

The offenders stole a wallet from the vehicle containing the victim's bank cards.

Between 5.15 and 5.40am (18 May) the bank cards were used at a service station and a fast food restaurant in Prahran.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged 25 to 30-years-old, with a medium build.
