Police investigating after serious crash at Grafton

About 8.10am (Thursday 2 March 2023), emergency services were called to the intersection of Oliver Street and Clarence Street, Grafton, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Police from Coffs-Clarence Police District attended the scene and found a Toyota Kluger SUV and small truck had collided.

One male occupant of the SUV was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a serious leg injury. He has been transported to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two other male occupants of the SUV allegedly fled the scene, but were arrested nearby following a short foot pursuit. One has been taken to Grafton Base Hospital under police guard for treatment of facial injuries.

The male driver of the truck was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
