Police investigating after single-vehicle crash - Earlwood

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle crash in the Inner West this morning.

Just before 10.30am (Sunday 22 March 2020), police and emergency services were called after a Ford Falcon GT crashed into a wall outside a business on Fricourt Avenue, Earlwood.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 47-year-old male driver at the scene before taking him to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he is in a critical but stable condition.

Fricourt Avenue was closed temporarily while officers from Burwood Police Area Command investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash, however the road has since been reopened.

While the crash damaged an exterior wall, there is reportedly no structural damage to the building.

An investigation is underway, and police are appealing for motorists who may have been in the area around the time of the crash – particularly those who have dash cam vision – to contact investigators.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
