Police investigating arson at Bundaberg

Investigators have taken a man into custody following the arson of a house in Walkervale this evening.

Officers were called to the Walker Street address around 6pm and found a two-story house well alight.

Detectives declared a crime-scene and a search began for the occupant of the house, who had been seen leaving the address on foot shortly before the fire began.

Police located a 42-year-old man at an address in Kepnock and he has been arrested for arson.

Police urge anyone who may have seen the man at the Walkervale address prior to the fire, or who may have CCTV, to contact them.

The house remains a crime-scene and investigations are continuing.
