Police investigating shooting incident at Coominya

Detectives from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating a shooting incident at Coominya this morning.

Police were called just before 11am to Rocky Gully Road to reports shots were heard in the area.

Upon arrival officers located a man in his 30s with gunshot wounds.

First aid was provided before he was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been declared and Rocky Gully Road closed, as investigations continue.

Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time is asked to contact police.
