Police investigating wounding at South Brisbane 7 June

Police have charged a 28-year-old Sun Valley man following an alleged wounding incident in South Brisbane today.

Around 4pm this afternoon, police were called to Grey Street, South Brisbane following reports of two men sustaining stab wounds.

Initial investigations indicate the two men allegedly approached a third man who they believed had stolen goods from a nearby supermarket.

Police will allege a physical altercation occurred between the three men and two men sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

One man sustained a stab wound to the arm and the other man sustained a stab wound to the torso. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

The 28-year-old man fled the scene on foot and was located by police in Highgate Hill a short time later.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of wounding and one count of possession of a knife in a public place and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 8.
