It is alleged that the youth approached two Indigenous males, aged 44 and 46, and assaulted them. The youth then posted the incident on social media.

On Friday, the 17-year-old was arrested by Strike Force Trident members. He has been charged with:

  • 2 x aggravated assault

The youth was bailed to appear in court on 16 March 2021.

Acting Commander Antony Deutrom said, “This is appalling behaviour and the people involved in causing harm to those who are vulnerable, is not tolerated.

“Police would like to remind the community that if you witness an incident, please report it to police and do not post it to social media.

“Social media is not the platform to report incidents of abuse or harm. Report the matter to police.”
