Police lay charges - Aggravated assault in Alice Springs 5 June

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 45-year-old man following alleged aggravated assaults.

At around 9:00pm on Wednesday 3 June 2020, the man and a 44-year-old male got into a physical fight at a Sadadeen residence. As the 44-year-old went to leave, the 45-year-old allegedly stabbed him to the back with an edged weapon.

The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by St John Ambulance where he remains in a stable condition.

A 46-year-old female was also allegedly assaulted by the 45-year-old. She was treated at hospital for a large laceration to her head and has since been discharged.

The alleged offender has been charged with:

  • unlawfully cause serious harm
  • engage in conduct that contravenes DVO.

He was scheduled to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
