Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery - Palmerston 11 February

Northern Territory Police have arrested a youth in relation to an aggravated robbery in Palmerston last month.

At around 11pm on 21 January, police received reports that a 50-year-old man had been assaulted by five offenders before having his wallet stolen.

One of the offenders allegedly used a blunt object to assault the victim, who received serious injuries and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital.

A 16-year-old male was arrested yesterday by detectives from the Serious Crime Squad, he has since been charged with:

  • Acts intended to cause serious harm
  • Aggravated robbery
  • Possess dangerous drug

He was remanded to appear in court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "It is believed the offenders were known to the victim.

"Investigations into this incident are ongoing as we locate the remaining four co-offenders."
