Police lay charges - Assault in Darwin Rural Area

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 33-year-old male in relation to multiple offences last week.

On 18 August 2021, the offender allegedly assaulted a 27-year-old female and a 47-year-old female causing injuries.

On 19 August 2021, shortly before midnight, the 33-year-old male absconded from hospital and proceeded to a rural residence, armed with a weapon, before proceeding to force entry and assaulted the 27-year-old woman.

The following day the male attended Palmerston Police Station and was placed under arrest.

The male has been charged with:

  • Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • 4x Aggravated assault
  • Aggravated unlawful Entry
  • Aggravated robbery
  • 2x Contravene DVO
  • Possess use firearm whilst unlicensed
  • Point firearm at person
  • Breach bail
  • Threats relating to persons involved in criminal investigations or judicial proceedings

He has been remanded to appear before court at a later date.
