Police lay charges - Criminal offences in Darwin

Two people will face multiple drug related charges after they were found in possession of firearms and drugs in Darwin.

On Friday 28 May 2021, Drug and Organised Crime members executed two search warrants at residences in Stuart Park and Herbert.

During the searches, police located the following items:

  • 3.7 grams of methamphetamine
  • 1 gram of fentanyl
  • drug paraphernalia
  • 4 x firearms including a pistol and large quantity of ammunition
  • A sum of cash

At the conclusion of the search, a 28-year-old male and 36-year-old female were arrested and taken to Palmerston Watch House.

The male has been charged with:

  • possess schedule 1 drug - Traffickable quantity
  • 4 x possess firearm whilst unlicensed
  • possess thing to administer
  • possess ammunition without a permit

The female has been charged with:

  • possess schedule 2 substance - commercial quantity
  • possess schedule 1 dangerous drug - less than traffickable quantity

Both were remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court today.
