Police lay charges - Joondalup Commercial Burglary Series

Detectives from the Joondalup Rapid High Harm Offender Response Team have charged a man with nine offences following an investigation into several commercial burglaries in the Joondalup area.

It will be alleged on Saturday, 4 February 2023 about 3.35am, the accused used a brick to smash the front glass doors of a service station on Candlewood Boulevard in Joondalup, before stealing a large quantity of cigarettes.

It will be further alleged a short time later, about 4.50am, the accused – wearing a face covering and gloves – stole a surf life saving buggy from a surf life saving club on West Coast Drive in Sorrento.

It will be further alleged, about 5.10am, the accused forced entry to a liquor store on Warwick Road in Duncraig and stole a large amount of alcohol.

The 41-year-old Greenwood man has been charged with:

3 x Aggravated Burglary and Commit

3 x Stealing

1 x Attempt Burglary

1 x Steal Motor vehicle

1 x No authority to drive

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 9 February 2023.
