Police lay charges over property offences in Alice Springs 10 September

Northern Territory Police have charged one man, one woman and a youth in relation to a number of unrelated property offences in Alice Springs this month.

On 4 September, a residential premises in Sadadeen was unlawfully entered and a number of items stolen, including two bank cards. The cards were later used at a business premises in Alice Springs. Strike Force Viper investigators identified the offender through transactions made with the cards. A 17-year-old male was arrested yesterday and has been charged with:

  • 2 x obtain benefit by deception

He was remanded to appear in court today.

On 5 September, a 20-year-old male was allegedly assaulted along the Undoolya Road causeway bridge. During the assault the victim had his mobile phone and shoes stolen. Strike Force Viper investigators identified an 18-year-old male and he was subsequently arrested yesterday and charged with:

  • 1 x Aggravated robbery

He was remanded to appear before Alice Springs Local Court today.

Enquiries are continuing in relation to the identification of the co-offenders.

On 6 September, a 36-year-old woman allegedly unlawfully entered a residence in Braitling. Strike Force Viper investigators identified the offender though CCTV and located the woman yesterday. She has been charged with:

  • 1 x Unlawful entry - dwelling

She was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
