Police lay charges - Robbery - Moulden

Northern Territory Police have charged two people in relation to an incident in Moulden on Friday night.

About 9:40pm, a motorist was flagged down in Moulden. On stopping, he was allegedly assaulted, knocked unconscious and his vehicle stolen. Passing motorists came upon the man some time later and contacted police. Police and paramedics attended and the man was transported to Palmerston Regional Hospital with minor injuries. He has since been discharged.

Police apprehended the stolen vehicle at 1:20am in Palmerston and unit arrested a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman.

The man was charged with:

  • Robbery in company
  • Unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Other driving offences

The woman was charged with:

  • Robbery in company
  • Unlawful use of motor vehicle

Both were refused bail and will appear in Darwin Local Court on a date to be set.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "General duties, Trident, dog operations and a crime detective successfully arrested two violent offenders who attacked a man in his own driveway as he opened up his gate. We will not tolerate any violent offending on members of the public going about their business."
