Police make arrest after Carlisle armed robbery

Rapid Apprehension Squad (RAS) detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery incident in Carlisle yesterday, Tuesday 9 January 2024.

About 12.20pm, a man entered a delicatessen on Oats Street and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding money. The staff member complied with the demands and the man left the store with an amount of cash.

Whilst conducting inquiries in the area relating to this incident, Police officers sighted the offender on Harris Street in Carlisle. He was apprehended and taken into custody. A search warrant was executed on the Harris Street property and during the search, police located and seized a knife and other items allegedly linked to the armed robbery.

A 33-year-old man from Harrisdale has been charged with:

• Armed Robbery

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 10 January 2024.
