Police make arrest after Cloverdale house fire

Arson Squad detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into a house fire in Cloverdale on 10 August 2020.

It is alleged between 9:55pm and 10:15pm the man attended the home and threw a large rock through a window before pouring accelerant inside and setting fire to the fuel which destroyed the home.

The damage is estimated at approximately $200,000.

The 51-year-old man from Cloverdale has been charged with:-

• Criminal Damage by Fire; and

• Two counts of Unlawful Act or Omission with Intent to Harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person).

He is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 16 September 2020.
