Police make arrest after South Melbourne factory fire

Detectives from the Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man following a factory fire in South Melbourne earlier this year.

The 30-year-old man was arrested at a Parkville address about 7am this morning.

Detectives executed a warrant and seized a number of electronic and explosive items.

The Parkville man is currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

The arrest follows a large factory fire on Ferrars Street around midnight on Thursday, 6 May.

The fire caused extensive damage to the single-storey structure.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident.
