Police make arrest - Recklessly endanger serious harm - Jingili

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man after he attempted to run over two victims in Jingili last year.

In September 2022, the man allegedly drove his vehicle at the couple who were outside a service station. The vehicle struck the woman and collided with an ice machine before leaving the scene.

The woman was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Day said "Investigations into the whereabouts of the driver identified the 28-year-old man had fled the Territory.

"NT Police worked with AFP and the man was extradited back to the Territory yesterday and arrested without incident."

The man has since been charged with:

  • 3 x recklessly endangering serious harm
  • 2 x acts intended to cause serious harm
  • 2 x drive dangerous manner
  • 3 x criminal damage
  • 1 x armed with offensive weapon
  • 2 x drive unlicensed

He is expected to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
