A male taxi driver was collecting a passenger from an address in Anula. Upon arrival, a male youth reached through the driver's open window and allegedly threatened him with an edged weapon, demanding he exit the vehicle.
The victim complied and the offender allegedly drove off in the vehicle. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
The offender picked up another male youth from a shopping centre in Karama before driving around the Northern suburbs.
Strike Force Trident, both Casuarina and Darwin General Duties responded to the incident and a tyre-deflation device was deployed successfully on the offending vehicle.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the Nakara area and two male youths - a 15-year-old male and 13-year-old male - were arrested.
