Northern Territory police have arrested a number of offenders after two service station robberies in Darwin last night.
Between 9pm and 10pm, service stations on Ross Smith Avenue, Fannie Bay, and the Stuart Highway, Parap, were unlawfully entered by groups of offenders. In both instances, employees were threatened and small items were stolen before the offenders attempted to flee the scene.
Serious Crime, Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations, Forensics and general duties all deployed.
Three males and 2 females were captured on CCTV entering the Parap service station with a 21-year-old female arrested on scene a short time later. She is expected to be charged with assault with intent to steal later today.
Three girls, aged 13, 14 and 14, were allegedly involved in the Fannie Bay service station robbery. Shortly after the incident, the two 14-year-olds were arrested by detectives at residences in Ludmilla. They are expected to be charged with robbery in company later today.
Investigations into both incidents remain ongoing and at this stage police do not believe they are linked.
Acting Superintendent Mark Bland said "Police are urging anyone who witnessed, or who has information on either incident to make contact on 131 444.
"You can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
