Police are now able to release the name of the man who died on Tuesday 21 July, following a crash on West Coast Road in Templeton on 19 July.
He was Lars Andreas Hartwig, 38, from Christchurch.
Police extend our thoughts and sympathies to his family and loved ones.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
