Police Probe Armed Robbery in Coles Bay

Police investigations are ongoing into a serious armed robbery at a Coles Bay property on Saturday, where a man was left with serious injuries, his firearms were stolen and his home was destroyed by a deliberately lit fire.

Detective Inspector David Gill from South East CIB said police are continuing to search for the offenders and stolen firearms, with anyone with information urged to come forward.

"Police investigations are ongoing in relation to the offenders, and the location of the stolen firearms" he said.

"We're renewing our call for anyone with information that may assist our investigations to come forward."

"If you have dash cam or cctv that may be relevant to our investigations, or information in relation to the stolen firearms or anyone who has obtained or is selling firearms, please come forward."

"The 76-year-old man who was injured during the incident remains in the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition, and our thoughts remain with him as he recovers," said Detective Inspector Gill.

"The victim's vehicle which was stolen at the time of the incident, was retrieved from the Apsley River and is continuing to be forensically examined by members from Forensic Services and Forensic Science Service Tasmania."
